  • Mysticism: The "Ancient Way" of Deception that is Entering the Church
    Feb 18 2025

What is Mysticism? What is Christian Mysticism? Is it compatible with the Gospel? Or does it teach a different path to God?

In this episode we look at what Christian Mysticism teaches about the nature of God, the nature of man, the nature of sin, and the nature of salvation and compare it to the Gospel.

Is it truly Christian and what are the dangers to Christian women should they go down the mystic path?

May this episode expose the false teaching entering the church and bring glory to God.

  • Do We Need Spiritual Disciplines to be Intimate with God and Enjoy Jesus?
    Feb 11 2025

Teachers of Spiritual Formation inform Christians that implementing certain disciplines will help know God, experience Him, and hear His voice. They teach that these practices will help us grow spiritually because we become more intimate with God through them; that by them we "restore" our relationship with God.

But is this all true? Does Scripture teach that we need these disciplines to become intimate with God and do we grow spiritually by practicing them?

And what might happen to a woman's faith in Christ and His word if she decides to trust that these will bring her to into a deeper relationship with God and "enjoy Jesus"?

  • Distractions Keep Us From Our Testimonies? | A Sadie Robertson Huff Message Review
    Jan 28 2025

At the 2020 IF:Gathering Conference Sadie Robertson Huff was assigned to give a message on Romans 8:39. In the message she urges women to keep themselves from getting distracted by "turning" to observe what God is doing in other people's lives. That, instead, they should be focusing on what God is doing in their lives. Why? Because God is building their testimony, and their testimony has the power to change hearts. Is this true? Do our testimonies have power? Is John 21 informing us that "turning" to ask Jesus what He is doing in other people's lives will cause us to "miss out" on "the reckless love God is chasing us" with? Does Scripture warn us against this?

Is even what Romans 8:39 is about?

May this episode expose the false teaching entering the church and bring glory to God.

  • Serving Women Sensual Word Soup: An Ann Voskamp Message Review
    Jan 21 2025

While "sensual" is often used in a sexual context, it is not exclusively sexual in meaning. Sensual has to do with the 5 senses, and means "physically pleasing". Messages within women's ministry has become more and more sensual to spark the emotions of women. Feeling loved is more important than knowing truth. And Ann Voskamp's message at the IF:Gathering 2020 conference was a perfect example of making use of the eyes, ears, and emotions to concoct a message meant to entice the senses and tickle the ears.

But how did Ann Voskamp handle Romans 8:32 in her message?

May this episode expose the false teaching entering the church and bring glory to God.

  • Be "En Guard!" & Conquer | A Bianca Olthoff Message Review
    Jan 14 2025

Bianca Olthoff warned the audience at the 2020 IF:Gathering Conference to be on guard for what God wanted to do in their lives. To help them with this, she taught that Paul, in Romans 8:31-37, wanted us to know that we possess a power that makes us more than conquerors. Is it important for us to be on guard for what God wants to do in our life, or we will be stuck in the wilderness not receiving our victory? Is it true that we "posses power" to fight and conquer? How are we more than conquerors according to the Apostle Paul?

How did Bianca Olthoff handle Scripture?

  • Twisting Our Blessed Hope | Ruth Chou-Simons Message Review
    Jan 7 2025

Scripture often talks about the great hope a Christian has when they put their faith in Jesus Christ. Paul, in Romans 8:18-30, reminds us of this great hope to encourage us during times of suffering and weakness.

At the IF:Gathering 2020 conference, Ruth Chou-Simons gave a message on Romans 8: 24-28 to talk about our hope as well. But did she urge us to hope in the same thing Paul encouraged the Roman Christians to hope in?

Did Ruth Chou-Simons handle this text correctly? Let's find out.

At the 2020 IF:Gathering Conference Jo Saxton was tasked with giving a message from Romans 8:14-17. From it she taught that we were set free and adopted to receive an inheritance as children of God. But what does she say we were set free from, and what are we to receive in our inheritance?
