Lauren Gehman, LCSW is a licensed therapist working with adolescents, adults, and families through the lens of cognitive behavioral therapy and positive psychology. Lauren joined Teach For America after college, where she learned of her love for working to understand what motivates and challenges humans. Following the two-year commitment, Lauren attended Tulane's School of Social Work and later taught as part of the adjunct faculty. She spent 20 years as a school counselor and enjoyed serving as the head of the counseling department for her last 12 years at the school. Lauren created and teaches a Positive Psychology course with The Global Online Academy allowing her to work with students worldwide. Along with in-office sessions, Lauren conducts therapy by the lake through RUN WALK TALK©, which recognizes that being outdoors while jogging or walking can make it easier to access and open up about difficult life circumstances. Lauren believes therapy is a collaborative process most effective when clients feel empowered to explore how to create and enhance a sense of meaning, purpose, and connection in all areas of living.
