    Sioux Falls Jefferson may be 5-8, but the Cavaliers are back at full strength and hoping for a season-swinging road win at No. 3 Mitchell (9-2) in the Corn Palace tonight.

    The Cavs' optimism rides on the return of post Edward Whiting — who is currently receiving offers or interest as a football player from Auburn, Michigan State, USC, Iowa, Nebraska, Washington, and Vanderbilt, in addition to all the area Div. I and Div. II schools. Whiting's first game back was the Cavs' 58-57 win over rival Roosevelt on Saturday.

    The Kernels (10-2) are the defending state champions and scored their biggest win of the season so far on Friday — beating then-No. 1 and undefeated Lincoln 69-58.
