  • In this season of Beyond Religion, we will explore critical issues related to tithing. Let me highlight them so that you are well informed of what to expect. We will look at Tithing from its historical context both in the Old and New Testament. Then we will probe the original purpose of tithing and trace its applicability in the New Testament. We will then discuss the homiletical, pedagogical, and exegetical approaches adopted by the Church, especially the Pentecostal and Neo-Pentecostal denominations to promote tithing. From there, subsequent episodes will explore some of the practical and researched factors that have affected tithing revenues globally, but the focus will be placed on the African context due to the scope of my listeners. The final episode would recommend some solutions that the Church can innovate according to the context of their tithing situation to remedy the problem.
