    Jack the Ripper is the notorious, unidentified serial killer who terrorized the Whitechapel district of London in the late 19th century. Active during the autumn of 1888, the Ripper is believed to have murdered at least five women, all of whom were prostitutes, in a brutal and methodical manner. The case is infamous for its gruesome details, including the mutilation of victims and cryptic letters purportedly sent by the killer to the press and police. Despite extensive investigations, the Ripper's identity remains a mystery, fueling speculation and theories for over a century. His crimes marked a dark chapter in Victorian London's history and remain one of the world's most enduring unsolved mysteries.
