  • A native of New Orleans, Tyrone Jackson grew up listening to the jazz and R&B that permeates the city... but was on track to be a strictly classical musician until being persuaded to join the Jazz ensemble his freshman year at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. While studying with Ellis Marsalis, Tyrone incorporated jazz and gospel into his musical vocabulary.

    Since moving to Atlanta, he has become a highly valued member of the music community. At home in the orchestra pit, on a jazz stage, or recording studio, he also holds a seat teaching in the music department of Kennesaw College.

    Tyrone’s latest CD, “From the Mind Of” lives up to its name, showcasing Tyrone’s compositional and arrangement brilliance as much as his keyboard mastery.
