  • Matthew 20:1-16 – “It’s All by Grace” – February 16, 2025
    Feb 19 2025

Grace is one of the hardest things from the Bible for us to understand. It sounds simple—God’s “undeserved love.” Yet, we don’t want to believe it: “I’m working hard. I deserve it. God owes me good things!” So Jesus told a parable to help Christians appreciate God’s grace. God searched for you. God found you. God saved you. All by grace. It’s all by grace. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). I hope you can listen to this sermon about God’s grace. Jesus loves you!

  • Matthew 13:24-30,36-43 – “What about the Weeds?” – February 9, 2025
    Feb 10 2025

In this world, the weeds and the wheat are all mixed together. Christians and non-Christians are all mixed together. That can bother us. We say, “Jesus, the world is not the way it’s supposed to be!” And Jesus says, “I know. That’s why I came. I suffered and died for the sins of the world. I rose and ascended into heaven to get a perfect place ready there for you. It’s okay that the weeds and the wheat are growing together on earth. In fact, that’s the way I want it to be. Because some of those plants that look like weeds are going to turn into beautiful heads of grain. One day, you’ll see. For now, keep growing. Keep trusting. God has a plan, even for the weeds.” I hope you can listen to this sermon, “What about the Weeds?” Jesus loves you!

  • Matthew 8:23-27 – “Calm in the Storm” – February 2, 2025
    Feb 3 2025

Life is filled with storms. When the waves splash in your boat, I know you’re thinking, “How can I not be anxious? Don’t you see what’s happening? Why on earth wouldn’t I be afraid?” But Jesus responds: “Because I am here. I am here with you. Don’t you know who I am? Don’t you know how much I love you? Don’t you know what I have done for you? Don’t you know how much I care for you?” You can be calm in the storm. Not because it will all go away. But because of who Jesus is. Our God is able to deliver us, but even if he does not, we can trust in him. I hope you can listen to this sermon: “Calm in the Storm.” Jesus loves you!

  • Matthew 8:5-13 – “Just Say the Word” – January 26, 2025
    Jan 27 2025

There was a man whose faith amazed Jesus. Do you know who it was? A Roman centurion. He said to Jesus, “I do not deserve to have you come under my roof, but just say the word and my servant will be healed” (Matthew 8:8). Faith recognizes its unworthiness. Jesus shouldn’t set foot in our houses. We don’t deserve it. This is why we start every service by confessing our sins. Yet, faith trusts in Jesus’ kindness and grace. He died for us! He took our sins to the cross. Jesus is good. Jesus is forgiving. Jesus is gracious. Even when we can’t see it. Faith doesn’t need to see it to believe it. Jesus’ promises are enough. We just need Jesus to say the Word. I hope you can listen to this sermon about faith: “Just Say the Word.” Jesus loves you!

  • John 2:1-11 – “Christ Begins” – January 19, 2025
    Jan 20 2025

I hope you understand this about life: It’s often when we run out that Christ begins. We don’t always feel God’s presence. But he’s here! It’s often when we feel like we have nothing left that Christ begins to make his presence felt. Because that’s when grace kicks in. What’s grace? God’s undeserved love. Before Jesus did his first miracle, he let it become an emergency. He let all other solutions get tried first. That’s often how God teaches us about his grace. No one can receive God’s grace who hasn’t run out. Of goodness. Of strength. Of self-righteousness. When we run out, Christ begins. I hope you can listen to this sermon about Jesus’ first miracle—changing water into wine. Jesus loves you!

  • Luke 2:41-52 – “Losing Jesus, Finding Jesus” – January 12, 2025
    Jan 13 2025

Where do you find Jesus? He once said, “Didn’t you know that I had to be in my Father’s house?” (Luke 2:49). Finding Jesus isn’t complicated. You find Jesus wherever you find the Word of God. Jesus is never lost. Jesus is never far away from any of us. He’s always as close as those Bible passages you have memorized. Jesus is always as close as the Bible app on your phone or that Christian friend or pastor who encourages you with God’s Word. If it seems like Jesus is lost, it’s not Jesus. It’s you and me. Come on back. Jesus is waiting for you! I hope you can listen to this sermon: “Losing Jesus, Finding Jesus.” Jesus loves you!

  • Epiphany Sermon: Matthew 2:1-12 – “Savior of the Nations” – January 5, 2025
    Jan 7 2025

Jesus is the Savior of the nations. Do you realize what good news that is? If Jesus is the Savior of Jewish people in the year 0, how many of us are included in that? Zero. But if Jesus is the Savior of all nations on earth from every time and every place, how many of us are included in that? All of us! If Jesus’ birth was for blue collar Jewish shepherds and scholarly Gentile wise men, how many of us fall somewhere in-between? All of us! That means that Jesus is your Savior and my Savior. I hope you can listen to this Epiphany sermon: “Savior of the Nations.” Jesus loves you!

  • Christmas Day Sermon: John 1:1-14 – “Eternal Love” – December 25, 2024
    Dec 27 2024

Jesus loves you with eternal love. Want proof? Think of how many opportunities Jesus has had to stop loving you and me. Over the history of the world, over the history of your own life, Jesus has had a million opportunities to change his mind about his love for us. Yet, he still came. He was still born for us in Bethlehem. He still died on the cross for us and our sins. Jesus had a million reasons not to do any of that. But there was one thing that was even more powerful: His eternal love for us. This Christmas, I hope your heart was filled with Jesus’ love for you. I hope you can listen to this Christmas Day sermon: “Eternal Love.” Jesus loves you!
