  • 15. Chief’s Blessing and Miracle of Food Multiplying
    Feb 18 2025

    Summary:

A prayer walk was conducted across ORR's four Community Freedom Centers to renounce witchcraft dedicated on the properties, with a local chief recognizing and blessing the act as similar to claiming land for God. A modern-day miracle occurred when food prepared for 100 people multiplied to feed over 300 attendees, with enough for seconds. The event emphasized bridging differences and committing to serve the Lord.

  • 13. Assistant to ORR's Country Director: What fuels your fight against human trafficking?
    Feb 4 2025

Redeeming Hope: What fuels your fight against human trafficking?

Guest: Assistant to ORR’s Country Director and Freedom Center Manager

    Questions:

    1. What brings you the most joy about your job? What personally motivates you to work for ORR?

    2. When did you first learn about children being trafficked and the need for ORR to be in existence?

    3. What makes you most excited about what ORR is doing?

    4. What is the hardest part about your job.

    5. How does the ORR programs collaborate with local leaders in the villages?

    6. What are your hopes for the future of ORR?

The love of Jesus motivates me in my work to combat human trafficking, a reality I didn't fully grasp until witnessing it firsthand. Meeting a teenage boy whose mother justified trafficking her children as part of her upbringing was a shocking and eye-opening experience. It's heartbreaking to see such cycles, but seeing rescued children smile, find hope, and embrace God's love is truly rewarding.

One powerful testimony involved a boy who witnessed his father kill his mother and later forgave him after years of counseling and prayer. He even wrote a beautiful worship song thanking God for his love and protection.

  • 12. Trusting God's Greater Plan
    Jan 28 2025

    Summary: Trusting God’s Greater Plan

Remind yourself that God is BIG, capable of restoring and redeeming. Key themes include enduring in prayer, relying on God's sufficient grace, and recognizing His strength in our lives. God partners with us to fulfill His plans, turning personal dreams into His purpose. Incredible transformations, like a former trafficker finding Jesus, showcase His power and love for us. Trust that everything God plants in your heart aligns with His greater plan.

    Scripture:

2 Corinthians 12:9But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (NIV)

Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (NIV)

John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (NIV)

  • 10. Stolen: A Mother's Fight for Her Children
    Jan 14 2025

Never Underestimate What God Can Do

    Summary:

Through reflection on personal faith and trust in God, we are reminded of His ability to work miracles through what we already possess. By asking the question, “What is in your house?” we are encouraged to consider the gifts, talents, and resources God has given us, trusting that He can multiply them for His glory. This process of partnership with the Lord invites us to surrender and believe in His power to do abundantly more than we could imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

    Story:

A mother in ORR’s Savings and Loan Program returned from the capital city to the heartbreaking discovery that her brother had sold her children to a neighboring country. Undeterred, she fought relentlessly to bring them back. The uncle who betrayed her trust was able to retrieve the children and return them safely. Justice prevailed as the uncle was held accountable and prosecuted for his actions.

  • 9. Mindset Shift: Changing Thoughts, Changing Lives
    Jan 7 2025

    Story:

Emma came to ORR deeply wounded—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Through love, prayer, and guidance, we helped her heal and discover her value, introducing her to a God of love. Forgiveness played a key role in her transformation, helping her let go of the past and embrace a hopeful future. We’ve learned the power of gratitude from these children—how a thankful heart can triumph over despair and bring lasting healing.

    Personal Reflection:

    1. Impact of Thoughts on the Brain: Our words, thoughts, and feelings have a profound impact on the brain, specifically influencing the thalamus. The structure of the thalamus changes based on our conscious choices, thereby shaping how we perceive reality.
    2. Choices and Wellbeing: The way we choose to live and the thoughts we cultivate directly affect our health and overall wellbeing.
    3. Colossians 3:15-17 encourages us to:

    • Allow the peace of Christ to rule in their hearts.
    • Be thankful and live in gratitude.
    • Dwell richly on the word of Christ by teaching, singing, and sharing in spiritual wisdom.
    • Perform all actions in alignment with the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God.

    Actionable Encouragement:

    • Write down the negative thoughts to change.
    • Consciously choose new, positive thoughts to transform your life both mentally and spiritually.

  • 8. Learning to Hear God's Voice
    Dec 31 2024

Rebecca favorite thing is for people to be awakened to hear the voice of the Lord. In preparation for the new year, take 1-hour to ask yourself the following questions:

    1. God, What Do You Think about Me?

Write down the first things that come to mind. If they are condemning thoughts, they are not from the Lord. If they are beautiful words, they are from the Lord. This is not a time that God will give you disciplinary words, but rather a time for God to share how He feels about you. Ignore the 2nd thought of you disputing that you heard from the Lord. Ignore the 3rd thought from the enemy telling you that you did not hear from God.

Spend some time thanking God for what He has done for you and sharing with the Lord what you love about Him.

    2. Is there anything that I feel is hindering me from living the life I know God has intended for me to live in this season?

    3. What do I feel God wants me to do about it?

    4. Ask the Lord for a word for the New Year (you may get a scripture, a quote, or a song).

ORR Story: Sonia and Fredamine are living proof of the transformative power of ORR’s Safe Home. As orphans and trauma survivors, they’ve overcome incredible challenges. Now, as ORR employees, they give back to their community with compassion, inspired by the children we serve. Seeing themselves in these stories fuels their dedication and passion, embodying the values of hope, faith, and love that shaped their journeys.
