Doing It Together: Making Sense of Low Libido, Sex, and Intimacy in Marriage.

Auteur(s): Janna Denton-Howes: Marriage Coach | Sex Educator | Low Libido Expert
  • Résumé

  • Doing It Together is about empowering women and men to heal from cultural messages so that they can discover true pleasure and connection in their sexual relationship and marriage. This podcast addresses the common dynamic in a heterosexual relationship in which the wife doesn’t want and enjoy sex and the husband does.

Too often, the focus is placed on labels like “low libido” and “low sex drive” without addressing the root issues including physical and emotional safety, shame, porn use, unintentional pressure, lack of emotional awareness, and many others.

I’m Janna Denton-Howes, a Relationship Coach and Sex Educator who has specialized in this one area for the last 7 years, helping thousands of couples create a sex life that both partners can look forward to and genuinely enjoy. I’ve developed Doing It Together (formally known as “Wanting It More”), a unique program offering both men and women the tools, skills, and support to do the work required for a healthy and sustainable intimate life.

If you’re looking for a fresh perspective on how to have a great sex life that is truly nourishing, connecting, and fulfilling without any feelings of obligation, duty, or guilt, this is the podcast for you!

  • Understanding Anxiety and Emotional Suppression in Men - with Kris | Ep. 129
    Jan 14 2025

From a young age, Kris learned to suppress his emotions and handle his feelings alone. His friends, family, and culture reinforced this mindset, showing him quick fixes for managing his growing anxiety, such as drinking alcohol, using drugs, or turning to adult entertainment. Over time, he became an expert at burying his emotions, but this came at a cost—dark moods, silence, and withdrawal from his family and marriage.

After decades of living this way, Kris hit a breaking point and, with hesitation, opened up to his wife about his struggles. What he didn’t know was that she had been listening to Janna’s podcast for years and suggested they try the Doing It Together program. In this episode, Kris shares his transformative experience in the program, how he faced his greatest fears, and what he’s learned about emotions, communication, and the difference between intimacy and sex.

The next round of Doing It Together runs in Feb./Mar. 2025 and is now open for registration until Jan. 29, 2025.

  • Overcoming Years of Silent Tension & Unspoken Emotions - with Chloe | Ep. 128
    Jan 7 2025

Chloe and her husband, married for 12 years, struggled with their intimate relationship from the very beginning. However, they found it difficult to have honest conversations with each other. Both raised in Britain with the belief in keeping a “stiff upper lip,” discussing emotions or sensitive topics didn’t come naturally to them. Her husband’s moods often turned dark and tense, and Chloe learned to tread carefully, trying to manage his unspoken feelings. Instead of confronting the issues, they both silently stewed in frustration for years.

Five years ago, Chloe came across Janna’s program but never mentioned it to her husband, fearing it might hurt his feelings. Eventually, after reaching a breaking point, they had an honest conversation and decided to try the Doing It Together program. Chloe shares how surprised she was by what she discovered about herself, especially the depth of certain issues she hadn’t fully recognized before.

The next round of Doing It Together runs in Feb./Mar. 2025 and is now open for registration until Jan. 29, 2025.
