    In his first West Catholic Football Update podcast of the 2023 season, head coach Landon Grove talks about everything fans can expect this summer before the first game of the season vs. Edwardsburg.

    The team is coming off a State Championship in Division 6 of the MHSAA.

    In 2023 they will return to Division 5.

    On this "prelude" episode, the second-year coach is joined by West Catholic content strategist John Gonzalez. They talk about summer workouts, summer scrimages, fundraisers, Camp of Champions, East vs. West All Star Game on June 24, and news that WC alumn Kyle Kloska will be joining his brother (and 2023 gradutate) Timmy Kloska this fall at Army.

    West Catholic won 59-14 on Nov. 25, 2022. It was the team's first championship since 2017. It was Coach Grove's first season as head coach. The team finished 13-1.

    Head coach Landon Grove and his players address the media at a post-game press conference after his West Catholic Falcons defeated the Negaunee Miners, 59-14 (Nov. 25, 2022) in the Division 6 MHSAA finals.

    Joining him were junior Carter Perry (#13, SL/DB), senior Timmy Kloska (#22, RB/OLB) and senior Bernie Varnesdeel (#2, QB).

    In the press conference Kloska said he will remember this season as "family."

    The team finished the season 13-1 and captured its first state championship since 2017.

    Host Steve Project asked about his team's big MHSAA D6 championship win 59-14 over the Negaunee Miners, Nov. 25 at Ford Field.

    They talk about the team's focus, grit, offensive weapons (beyond star running back Timmy Kloska), defensive prowess, preparation of coaches, community support and his coaching inspirations.

    The West Catholic Football team finished the season with a record of 13-1.
