Love- Most beautiful yet biggest reason of pain in people's life, ever wondered why?

It becomes so easy for me to accept the fact that something nasty, unpleasant or disastrous gives somebody pain. It is natural to happen. But, it gives me sleepless nights when I see people almost crippled because of Love. How can something so beautiful as Love give somebody pain? Why does it happen so often that people who have ever been in Love end up crying?
