In addition to being instructional, the letters of Paul are a fascinating look at the ethics and ideals of early organized Christian religious sects.

Proverbs is not merely an anthology but a "collection of collections" relating to a pattern of life that lasted for more than a millennium. It is an example of the Biblical wisdom tradition and raises questions of values, moral behavior, the meaning of human life, and right conduct.

In the Bible, the first four books of the New Testament are known as the Gospels. Edom was at odds with Israel ever since its forefather, Esau, had struggled in the womb with his twin brother, Jacob, the patriarch of Israel. After Edom played a role in the destruction of Jerusalem, the prophet Obadiah gives warning to the nation of their coming judgment, fulfilling God's promise from hundreds of years earlier: "I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curseth thee" (Gen. 12:3).

The Book of Revelation is the final book in the Bible, The Revelations of St. John the Divine. It has been referred to as end times prophecy.

God is faithful and always keeps his promises. In 1 Chronicles, God's promise to David is fulfilled when David becomes king over all of Israel. The Book of Psalms is the longest book of the Bible and contains 150 Psalms. Psalms were songs written as expressions of praise, declarations of emotions, laments of sorrow or guilt, celebrations of events, and more. The Psalms were written by many authors, and many of them are attributed to King David. Whether he did write them is still debated by scholars, but many of the Psalms reference moments in his life and kingship.

It is not known who wrote the Book of Job or when it was written. It is written poetically and is considered wisdom literature. The book starts with a dialogue between God and Satan. God first brings up Job and how noble and pious he is, then Satan contends that it is so because of the wealth and comfort which God has bestowed upon him. God allows Satan to inflict suffering upon Job. As a consequence, Job loses all his wealth, his children die, and he contracts disease.

The main voice in these poems is that of a woman, while we also have a voice that seems to belong to a man who is not Solomon. The woman seems to be engaged to the man, who is a shepherd. It is virtually impossible to analyze this book as a single poem because it does follow a structure and is quite disjointed. However, we can understand it using key themes.
