Very often, because people are good at making widgets, they are promoted to be in charge of the department making widgets. They know how to make great widgets, but nothing about managing people. So they fall back to their comfort zone and continue doing what they are good at—making widgets—and avoiding what they are uncomfortable at—managing people!

In Revelation 20:1-3, the scriptures say God is going to lock Satan, the devil, up for 1000 years. This is when the millennium will come to the planet, and the Earth and paradise will be restored. From this verse, we get the word millennium, Latin for "one thousand," the kingly rule of God by Jesus and the resurrected saints, the kingdom of heaven on planet Earth.

This is how Satan is disguising himself, by using the media for many ways, and everyone is refusing to pay any attention. Later it becomes an addiction, like a drug. This is how Satan gets believers and unbelievers to worship him. This is how believers are falling in the trap and church worship is leaving their life. Are you shutting the church out of your life? In the end, we find out by letting the media idols become an addiction to our life. Most never realized what was going on. Oh, how easily believers are getting blinded.

One pair of shoes, two children. Who goes to school, who does not? This book chronicles the journey of a very young girl sharing a single pair of shoes with her sister and having to alternate between days to go to school, hence the concept of "a half pair of shoes". This moving tale draws the listener into the depth and soul of the narrator and engenders empathy for her pain of poverty and abuse.

These stories tell the wrong path we are headed unless we change the outcome. The racial injustice, police reform, and changing this hate into love for all immigrants living in our land. America is made from immigrants coming to America to have a better life for themselves and their families. We must strive to do our part and eliminate systemic racism of all races coming or born in this country we love and call home. The sex and human trafficking and illegal drugs that have stained our land must cease to exist.

Growing up, I often visited older family members with my mother. I remember well the sharing of tales and stories of the old days about our family on Monteith Island. This book is a compilation of those stories as I recall them, though they may have even changed as they were passed down and intertwined with a little fiction and a little nonfiction, as well as many of my paranormal experiences.

This book was born from my burden (1) that people who call themselves Christian might desire to read and study the scriptures themselves (John 5:39); because of (2) the great fear I have that many who think they are Christian have been misled and do not know the truth (Ephesians 5:6). Chapter 1 deals with four questions concerning salvation: Why do I need to know about the Gospel? What if I don't know? How can I know? How can I be assured once I know?
