Jamal Weathers, a Black FBI agent, was captured by America’s most notorious killer, Kifo, a man who targeted cops as revenge for police murders of unarmed black citizens, a man who could not be seen by the human eye thanks to a cloaking suit called the 119.

Thomas Richard is what some would call a genius. Born and raised in Inglewood, California, Thomas grew up in a Blood neighborhood and was somewhat fascinated by the gang lifestyle. His first cousin, Blast, was deeply involved with the Crenshaw Mafia Gangster Bloods and made sure that Thomas would never partake in that life. Thomas accepted that, but deep in his heart, he still felt he was a Blood.

One snowy night in 1998, Brooke Mulcahy's car slides off the road in rural Vermont. Her car is discovered. She is not. Twenty-one years later, Robert Kirby, Brooke's stepbrother, is paid a visit from a young woman (Lily), claiming to be Brooke's daughter. Since a tumultuous upbringing, Robert, formerly known as "Bobby," has enjoyed considerable success. Now an esteemed professor at a private Upstate New York university, Robert has just received a significant NEH grant. After Lily's visit, Robert's life is upended.

Award winning author Clifford D. Simak published "The World That Couldn't Be" in 1958. It appeared in the January issue of Galaxy Science Fiction magazine. In the story, Layard was an alien world that puzzled sociologists, since the planet's inhabitants were genderless, yet there was no decrease in population. Gavin Duncan had come to this world to farm vua, a plant that cured mental illnesses. Vua was a cash crop that Gavin hoped would bring him great wealth. He is thwarted by the Cytha, a large, supposedly simple-minded creature with a taste for vua.
