he Monster Defense Agency demands loyalty, and once you become an agent, the only way out is in a body bag. When Sarah Stone and Robby Young train together at the agency’s academy, sparks fly. And when they are paired as partners, they must muzzle their attraction, or they will face a firing squad. All their pent-up frustration sharpens them into finely tuned monster hunters. I am the last of my kind, deemed a monster by the Monster Defense Agency. But the MDA does not understand the hell their duplicity has unleashed. Robby and I are now on our own hunting expedition. Our target: the head of the MDA. Although, it isn’t just one man pulling the strings. It’s a highly complex network that is more like a damn hydra. When you extinguish one, another pops out of the woodwork. Two against an ancient organization that trains monster-killers and that knows all our tricks is even harder than it sounds.

When an ancient vampire arrives from overseas, she comes with baggage from a past long before I was born. And she is hell-bent on revenge. Not only are we trying to dodge the monsters, but we are back on the radar of the Monster Defense Agency, and they are pissed.

The end of life as we knew it didn’t come with a nuclear blast. It didn’t come with the deadly impact of a hurdling asteroid. No. It came in a wave of illness that swept the world with fear, and in our quarantined silence, the monsters awoke. Leviathans, serpent kings, and dragons came forth from the bowels of the Earth. The season of the dragon began with fire and fury, and ended with a new world order. One in which these giant terrorists held all the power.

The only thing we seem to agree on is our desire to annihilate the leviathans and unseat the Serpent King. Our personal futures depend on ridding the earth of these murderous overlords who have been hunting us since I escaped and Mikhail betrayed them. We thought the monsters were our most deadly hurdle. But building a bomb large enough to wipe out an entire species is tricky. One wrong move and we could destroy everyone living in New York instead.
