The Matt Complete Cooper series consists of a total of 102 short stories to date. All the stories combined would make the file too large, so I broke the collection down into groups of 10 stories each.

201: Dead End. After two years away from the business, Nick is beginning to regret leaving for his current job at the toy factory. Meanwhile, Matt has taken a case for a woman seeking out information as to what became of her late uncle's estate. During his search for the truth, Matt stumbles upon what turns out to be a serial killer, and the further he digs into the case, the higher the bodies just keep piling up.

This collection contains three previously published stories.

Matt, Tom, and Elliott (and their wives) are hired by a salvage company to visit the major movie studios and try to buy some of the interior sets from vintage movies. The six of them have a ball going through all that is available and come back with some good finds. However, all is not well back at the salvage company as Matt will soon find out. Meanwhile, Matt makes a bet with his son, Nicky, that he can't retrace one of the original cases that the 1946 Matt handled and do it as efficiently as he did back then.

Elliott is hired by a member of the local country club to find out who has been stealing things from his locker. Sounds tame enough, but after Elliott sets up his surveillance cameras to catch the thief in the act, he catches something else on video instead - murder. Who bashed that fellow's head in with a Ping driver?

Doug has been having disturbing dreams about his friend, Alan, who had killed himself nearly thirty years earlier. While shopping at the annual flea market one summer day, Doug is drawn to a mirror in a plain wooden frame. He brings the mirror home and hangs it in his office, the perfect place for it as far as he's concerned. One night while sitting in front of his word processor trying to find the inspiration he desperately needs to finish his latest story, Doug sees something out of the corner of his eye and it's moving.

In this installment, Harry wants to repay Clay and invites him to come to Denver for a week. On the way there, Clay meets a woman on the plane and they become friends. Before the plane reaches Denver, however, it collides with a flock of geese and goes down in the Rocky Mountains. The only survivors are Clay and the woman he met. Now how do they get out of this mess? Or do they?

Matt and Gloria are hired to tail a recently released convict, hoping he'll lead them to the two million dollars he stole from an armored car before he went to prison. Along with the latest in surveillance and tracking equipment, this mother and son team will get results if it kills them. Let's hope not.

The things these two private eyes are into could prove deadly for one of them, but it isn't what you might expect.

Get a real job? Not on your life. You'd rather keep pulling the same cons on unsuspecting rubs. Your latest con involves selling TV boxes with just a picture tube in it to the gullible public. It keeps you in money and your cost is zero. But what happens when you unkowingly sell one of these useless boxes to Anthony Vonetti, crime underworld hit man? Well, you did and when they see what's in the box, your life won't be worth a plug nickel. You have to get it back before that happens. Good luck.

Elliott and Matt are hire by the police to handle the leg work for them on a kidnap case that has brought in the FBI. The two private eyes have to check area body shops, machine shops, fabrication shops and any other place capable of manufacturing a fake U.S. Mail box, used in the ransom drop.

Jerry Bernard is the sleaziest of all sleazeball car salesmen. And when he gets Elliott Cooper in his grasp, you know one of them is going to get screwed...and it won't be Jerry. Gloria has gone along with Elliott to look at new cars. Elliott's new at these sales negotiations, Jerry is not. In fact, after Jerry financially rapes his customers, he tells his sales manager that he just took a passage from the bible -"I saw a stranger and took him in." He took Elliott in, all right, but payback can be a real bitch.
