Zane and his dad Grayson became the laughing stock of the town when they claimed to have seen something incredible during a walk in the woods - a mountain lion which changed into a human. After years of ridicule and harassment and having everyone they cared about turn their backs on them, they moved to a remote cabin in the woods, where they searched tirelessly (and fruitlessly) for the creature. Zane heads into the forest, desperate to locate the animal and grant his father’s desire, but only finds himself in trouble.

One moment can change the course of someone’s life. Fifteen years ago, that moment came during a chance meeting between Grayson and Rowdy, and neither of their lives would ever be the same. During a walk in the woods with his son, Grayson came across a creature he never knew existed: a human boy who changed into a cougar. He discovered the creatures again when his son was not only saved by a cougar shifter, but mated with one. Now, Grayson is very sick and running out of time. The only thing that will save him is a magical mate of his own.
