Warren is just a guardsman with a haunted past eager for a new castle to defend. All that changes when he's summoned to the edges of the kingdom, where walls protect cities against the diabolical foes of the wildlands. His mission is simple: save the Dragon Farm he just inherited, settle down as a lord, and help his new city thrive. As a soldier who normally lives by the blade, he's out of his element but up to the task... especially since tame dragons seem to like him.

With a new title and new dragons, Warren has a sorceress to hunt and a good friend to rescue from her grasp. To do so, he has to leave his dragon farm behind enemy lines, and go on a journey with a seductive blood mage and a suspicious foreign noblewoman. Together, they head to the island kingdom of Kiloba—where his greatest enemy is lying in wait. On the way, Warren will have to unlock new powers in his dragons, and in himself. He’ll have to overcome a mystery force that’s weakening his bond to the Demon Ignace and unearth ancient boons beyond his wildest imaginings.

Warren has just kicked off a rebellion. His first order of business is to cleanse his farm of bad actors, after which he must uncover the treasure left to him by the murdered Lord Minax. This hunt leads Warren to the frigid north, where a beautiful enemy guards a power that only Warren can unlock. However, gaining new power—and new partners—has its costs, and the war has accelerated rapidly in Warren’s absence.
