The contents of this book are fundamental. God calls all who are his to a sanctified life. The life of a believer in which sin reigns is subnormal. Howe­ver, many believers find themselves bound by sin. They are like Lazarus walking out of the tomb with life, but in bonda­ge.

Christian character is all-important. The Lord Jesus wants all his disciples to be like him in their character. He has put the Holy Spirit in each believer to work out that character. Only those whose character conforms in every way to that of the Lord Jesus can be said to be truly, entirely sanctified. This audiobook is about the character of Christ in the life of the Christian. We send it out with prayer that the almighty father should use it to work out the character of his begotten son in his adopted sons.

Spiritual power is needed today. This power is needed to be like Christ in character and in deed. It is the power of God: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Lord meant that the church as his body, and the believer as a member of his body, would manifest spiritual power in character and service. The church is, generally speaking, powerless. This book, The Way of Christian Service by Zacharias Tanee Fomum, is the outflow of a heart burdened to see the marks of the lordship of Jesus Christ in every aspect of Christian service. It is the heart cry of a man who is desperate to see a new kind of minister on the horizon of Christian service - men and women who know God intimately, who fellowship with Him daily, and who commune with Him unceasingly.

There is a war in progress between God and His forces on one side, and the devil and his forces on the other side. Whether you like it or not, you are a part of that war. If you have received the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, God has enroled you in His army and expects you to fight for Him and with Him. If you have not yet received the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, then you are on the devil’s side, fully registered in his army, even if you have good intentions.

Persecution is what one receives for loving the Lord and for serving him as he ought to be served. Persecution is a must for all who are true to the Lord. There is no way by which they can run away from it and remain true to their Lord.

Overcomers are people who, constantly facing choices between satisfying God or satisfying self, choose to satisfy God. Those who continue as overcomers are those who make God their consistent choice. By their consistent choice of the Lord (which also means that they consistently reject the wicked one), they satisfy God’s heart and make themselves the object of hell’s greatest fury and heaven’s greatest joy. These messages that constitute the book, The Way of Spiritual Encouragement, were written while I was away from Cameroon to seek God's face and sort out many things with him. They have been a great blessing to me. I was shocked by what the Lord was saying to me and, by his grace, will say to those he will allow to listen to these messages. My own faith in him grew as I wrote them. I have been deeply comforted to know that God is so good, so loving and so gracious. My desire is to love him more and more.

The Way of Loving the Lord is very different from many of the books in the Christian Way series. It is not an attempt to present the Bible’s position on some aspects of Christian truth. Rather, it is an expression of the yearning, longing - the spiritual emotions of my heart - after the Lord Jesus. I believe that there are some who yearn in an increasing way for the Lord, and in whose hearts the evidence of his soon coming awakens, with each passing day, greater desires to see him - the Hope of the Ages – face-to-face.
