Dr. King was correct when he stated that Black political leaders are surrogates for White power. The destruction of Black leadership is the most damaging crisis affecting the Black community. Unless this problem is solved, nothing beneficial will develop out of the unholy alliance between African American politicians and White liberals. Black leadership is dead. They abandoned King’s philosophy of direct confrontation, which was responsible for the meager gains African Americans made in the 1960s.
