Alternate World Fantasy

In a world where scientists have become the new superstars, Rick Hamilton, once a celebrated rock icon, has lost his passion for music amid the clamor of shallow fame. One night, in a haze of disillusionment, a portal from a parallel universe brings back his long-lost college roommate, Andy. The visitation offers Rick a chance to explore a reality where his life took a different turn.

It is a time of old gods, of new beliefs, and new restrictions on living. Sherewode stretches nearly from coast to coast, from the Humber in the north, to Buckingham in the south; from Willenhall in the west to Crowland, east of Ermine Street, with tendrils running all the way to Kernow, Scotland, and Wales. Everywhere Saxons and the old Ænglish are being crushed under the cruel bootheel of the Normans. Thousands of years of history is being stolen, plundered, sold off. Justice and belief are under attack, being rewritten by the Normans.

Tony Fallow has a sticky problem: Everything that isn't bolted down literally wants to be near him! Fearing he must be one of the Sovereign, a remarkable new minority of superpowered people who recently revealed themselves, Tony travels to the Donner Institute for Sovereign Studies with hopes of being cured. But as he tells his story to a human doctor working at the institute, the boorish Tony soon finds his problem might be more complicated than he suspected.

This novel is based on a collection of stories written in a group and posted to an app called StoryFire. I came up with the idea and began the series, but I had help from my co- writer in creating this series.
