Subsequently, the majority of backstage operations and storage were consolidated in New York City during what is now known as the golden age of musical theater. The First 60 Years: The History of Afro-American Musical Theater and Entertainment chronicles the contributions made by Black Americans to the entertainment industry in America from 1871 through 1930.
