I am a motivational speaker, an award-winning author of rhyming book series named Adventures of Walter. I'm so excited about this diversity box series! Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurological and developmental disorder that begins early in childhood and lasts throughout a person's life. With the help of time, we now have a better understanding of the disease spectrum. Those observations made by the early pioneers have evolved as breakthroughs in the disease management process. In exploring past human competency levels and myths of autism, an emphasis of significance is placed on increasing awareness and the reaction factors to seeking treatment, as the scope of early intervention.

Extremely excited to start his new school, Walter is both eager and nervous to make new friends when he meets Lily for the first time. Things get off to a sticky start because of Lily’s disabilities, so it’s hard for him to connect with her. But when Walter realizes that she’s not having fun like everyone else, he makes it his personal mission to become Lily’s number one friend.

Harper, a seven-year-old little girl who is typically developing, meets a new friend one day at the pool who is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. They both love to swim at the pool and want to play together, however, Emma has limited communication skills. Emma can make sounds and not words and flaps her hands when she is excited.

We will examine the many common misconceptions of autism. I'll be discussing some of the techniques that I've used on my four-year-old autistic son, Justin. He was three years old, about a month before his fourth birthday. I had searched everything I knew how to search, and I found lots of information on defining autism as well as the symptoms of autism.
