Former Blackhawk pilot Luke Angel wants nothing more than to enjoy the easy life he’s found in coastal Florida. When Jox McNabb is expelled from school he is forced to look to his future. Inspired by the sight of a Hurricane flying over him, he becomes determined to join the RAF. And after basic training, Jox is posted to RAF Montrose with the growing group of other recruits he has met along the way.

The Allies and Fighter Command have gone on the offensive. The French town of Dieppe is selected for the first major assault on the European continent. But Jox McNabb and No.111 Squadron start to feel like they are being lured into a trap. And their new leader is acting unpredictably, making them worried that he can't be trusted.
