Biblical Fiction

The purpose of GENESIS: The Novel is to highlight God’s history with human beings. My target audience is the curious - agnostics and believers alike. I wrote the book to present the biblical stories of the book of Genesis in the form of a novel. Telling a story with full disclosure of the doubts, fears, and weaknesses of a biblical character is my intention. I believe that’s how the listener can identify with each one of them and be inspired.

Book four of the Davidic Chronicles continues to follow David’s flight from an enraged King Saul. Hunted and betrayed on every hand, David must seek God's deliverance as he is driven deeper and deeper into the wilderness south of Jerusalem.

A Fateful Flaw is a fictional tale set in the Judean wilderness immediately following the baptism of Jesus. Aided by the archangels Michael and Gabriel and other heavenly beings, God-now-man Jesus—shackled by time—grapples with human frailty and the sinister wiles of the devil. Whimsy and humor interlace pointed truths.

God is a covenant making, covenant keeping God. From the dawn of prehistory, God’s dealings with mankind can be understood through the lens of covenant: A binding agreement of unending loyalty and faithfulness. His early covenants with mankind were one-sided, requiring very little from men in return. All of that changed with the birth of the nation of Israel, and her deliverance from slavery in Egypt through Moses. The Mosaic covenant, also known throughout the Bible as “the law”, encompassed the rest of the Old Testament books through the death and resurrection of Jesus.

On the run, alone, and pursued by the king, David must struggle to stay alive and find his place among his own people. Hunted by friends and enemies alike, David confronts his own anointing by Samuel and what that means for his future. As he does this, his king continues to fall under the throes of the evil spirit and is driven to kill anyone who stands in his way—men, women, and children. Most of all, in Saul's mind, David must die.

His message of inclusiveness was not well-received among his peers at the time. Yet, it was central to his core doctrine. It is as relevant today as it was 2000 years ago.
