The Aldens are going with grandfather to visit his friend, old Cap Lambert, a retired riverboat pilot who lives in a cabin in the woods. To get there, the Boxcar Children take a wonderful trip down the Mississippi in a paddlewheel boat. But when they arrive at Cap Lambert’s cabin, they find some mysterious things are going on. Spooky phone calls, eerie flickering lights, strange dark figures. Is the cabin haunted?

A hip new doughnut shop known for its bizarre recipes is opening up in Greenfield. At first, the owners of the other doughnut shop in town, Delilah's, aren't worried. Their shop has been a fixture downtown since just after World War II. But when the new shop starts making doughnuts that look just like some of Delilah's greatest hits, the Boxcar Children must figure out if it's just a coincidence or if someone from the new shop is stealing Delilah's recipes.

The Boxcar Children have been chosen to be on an exciting new show! A camera crew is following the Aldens around the city of Philadelphia as they compete with another team in a search for clues. But the search isn’t easy, and someone is giving them the wrong directions! Who is trying to ruin the game?

It’s a big week at Cogwheel Stadium - the Clayton Cogs are playing for the pennant! But the other team’s batters seem to know the pitches too well, and it’s clear someone in the stadium is stealing the Cogs pitcher’s signals. Now the Boxcar Children must find out who is spying for the other team!

When the Aldens first arrive in Elbow Bend, they meet Kate Frances, who tells them all sorts of ghost stories about the town! The scariest tale is about a ghost dog who howls at midnight and appears to warn people of danger! The Aldens think it is just a story until they hear dogs all over Elbow Bend howling at midnight. Does the ghost dog really exist or is someone playing a trick on them? The Boxcar Children are determined to find out.

The lodge is having its annual winter carnival, and the Boxcar Children sign up to compete in events like skiing, skating, sledding, and building snow and ice sculptures. But no sooner has the competition begun than the children have a mystery to solve!

The Aldens have promised Grandfather a vacation from mysteries during their island visit. But the promise proves hard to keep when things start to go missing. Then an old fisherman tells Benny of the island’s ghost horse, and late that very night Benny sees a mysterious stallion galloping down the beach. Could the ghost horse have something to do with the disappearances?

The Boxcar Children learn lots of interesting things about the Navajos - but best of all is a legend about an ancient Native American village that once existed nearby. Curious, the children begin digging there and uncover some valuable artifacts. But it seems someone wants the village to stay buried!

The Aldens must find a way to solve many mysteries, and all before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday! Strange things are happening in Greenfield where the Boxcar Children live. Stray cats and dogs appear on doorsteps, but the animal shelter is forced to close, and a nice old woman disappears. Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny are very worried about Mrs. Newcombe. Is she in danger? Who are the strange men lurking around her house?

The Aldens are going to visit a guide dog school - but once they arrive, mysterious things start to happen. Benny sees strange lights in one of the dormitory rooms... and late one night, someone breaks into the kennel where the guide dogs are kept. Is someone after one of the dogs? The Boxcar Children stumble across a 100-year-old time capsule with a mysterious journal inside. It contains clues that lead the children around Greenfield and through the history books in search of a lost treasure. But questions remain. Who wrote the journal? And after 100 years, will there be enough evidence to find the hidden treasure?

The Aldens are in a community basketball league, and Buzz and Tipper Nettleton, Greenfield’s most famous basketball stars, are coaching their teams! But Tipper’s Most Valuable trophy is missing, and Buzz’s practice schedules get mixed up. Is somebody trying to foul up the community league?

One day in the park, the Aldens’ dog, Watch, comes across a mysterious box with a note inside. “Congratulations!” the note says. “You’ve found it!” The box is part of a game called Geocaching. Soon, Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny are searching all over town for hidden boxes and making friends with other kids in the geocaching club. But is one of the club members a thief?

The Aldens visit Ireland and stay in a beautiful castle that's now a hotel! But the caretaker seems very superstitious, and at night they see a mysterious figure who walks the halls carrying a lantern. Could it be one of the banshees of ancient legend? The Boxcar Children must discover the secret that Duncarraig castle is hiding!

The Aldens are visiting Grandfather’s friend Abby in Peachland, Canada - home of the mysterious lake monster called Ogopogo. When the children learn that Abby must sell her resort unless she can attract more business, they decide to help. But someone or something is trying to get in their way. Can they save the resort?
