With Erryn having sacrificed herself to save those lost in the disaster of the Emerald Caverns, it falls to an of-age Peter to take action when new reincarnates are born. Unfortunately, without control of the System or the Law, there is little he can do to halt the contingencies Erryn left behind, leaving him to search desperately for a solution. Matteo awakens to find that he is one of hundreds of thousands of people who have been mysteriously spirited away to the world of Axis Mundi to become players. Each player is automatically part of a class, which is determined by a roll of the die. You could be in one of the powerful classes, like Zeus, named for the Greek god of the sky. But unfortunately for Matteo, he finds himself in class Xipe Totec, Aztec god of agriculture. Provided with no weapons or special abilities, he is simply thrust into the world with a few simple instructions and forced to survive.

The battle with the bandits is over, and the companions turn toward building the village of Alem’s Crossing.
