Seit sich der SchattenClan unter der Führung des mysteriösen Sol vom SternenClan losgesagt hat, droht die Ordnung der vier Clans zu zerbrechen. Wie sollen Häherfeder, Distelblatt und Löwenglut die Katzen des Waldes nur überzeugen, dass ihre Ahnen weiterhin über sie wachen und das Gesetz der Krieger lebenswichtig für sie alle ist?

Löwenpfote, Häherpfote und Distelpfote sind endlich Schüler. Eine Zeit voller neuer, aufregender Entdeckungen - und Geheimnisse: Löwenpfote findet einen Freund, doch er muss ihn vor seinem Clan verbergen. Häherpfote sieht etwas, das seinem Clan nützen, aber anderen schaden würde.

Häherpfote, Distelpfote und Löwenpfote teilen das Wissen um ihre künftige Macht. Aber was bedeutet die Prophezeiung, was können sie tun? Während die Geschwister grübeln, entbrennen zwischen den Clans erbitterte Kämpfe um Territorien und Beute - die Zeichen stehen auf Krieg.

A cat and a mouse, contrary to the custom of their kinds, become friends, such good friends that they decide to share a home. That they might have something to fall back on in time of need, they buy a pot of fat and hide it away in a nook of a church for safekeeping.
