Der Vater hat keine Wahl - er muss nach Berlin, um passenden Ersatz zu beschaffen, was auch gelingt, aber auf dem Rückweg schließt ein anderer kleiner Junge den neuen Hoppelpoppel in sein Herz und der Vater muss diese schwierige Situation nun zu aller Beteiligten Zufriedenheit lösen.
