Child Motivation

Rules are an essential part of any classroom. But how do you know which rules are important enough to display without them looking like a book to the small children? Better still, how do you get the students to buy in and follow the rules? This short book will go through my process of how we come up with the classroom rules at the beginning of each new year. I also demonstrate how we keep up with them as the year progresses.

Many of us remember where we were in the moments of 9/11, however few of us can say we personally know someone who was impacted by this tragedy. Payton Lynch, the author of Rise from the Ashes: Stories of Trauma, Resilience, and Growth from the Children of 9/11, shares the story of her husband Jon Lynch and other 9/11 surviving children. Their stories are a few of the 3,000 stories (not including the 2,000 adult-age people who lost a parent that day and the countless others who have gone on to lose a parent due to 9/11 illnesses) that need to be told.

Lines of Listening: An Expose of Generational Child Abuse and Marital Betrayal traces an ancestral passage from their German homeland through the family's multi-generational struggle to survive abuse and betrayal. Relating personal accounts of familial interactions verifies and endeavors to explain evil and horrific episodes committed by family members, who had vowed to love and protect each other. This book was written to help explain why such events occur and to soften the pain for others when they may encounter such events.

During these times of chaos, COVID-19, social unrest, isolation from the normal routine, and a host of other intrinsic factors we may find ourselves with more time on our hands than ever before. With only time, some may find themselves with negative thoughts running freely through their minds like a gazelle trying to escape its hunter. In this scenario, the hunter may be past or present trauma that hadn't had the time to be addressed because of daily distractions. Let's go deeper in the know.
