Con questo celebre romanzo, nel lontano 1887, nasceva il mito di Sherlock Holmes, il detective privato più famoso della storia della letteratura. Arthur Conan Doyle, all'epoca un semplice medico di periferia, presentava la sua creazione più geniale attraverso il diario del Dott. Watson, narratore dell'intera vicenda e suo vero e proprio alter ego nella storia.Sherlock Holmes incontra dunque per la prima volta quello che diventerà il suo inseparabile compagno, il Dott.

Narra la historia de un medico acusado injustamente de traicion y condenado. Al escaparse, se dedica a la pirateria y resulta el mas exitoso corsario hasta conseguir su objetivo final, vengarse de quienes lo llevaron a esa vida.

Gathering together in one volume the later exploits of Sherlock Holmes, the world's first consulting detective, His Last Bow includes tales published individually between 1908 and 1917. It also contains one early story, 1892's "The Adventure of the Cardboard Box", which, with its themes of adultery, was previously considered too "scandalous" for American audiences.
