J. M. Barrie's classic "Peter Pan" is about a mischievous boy who can fly and magically refuses to grow up. Peter Pan spends his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland as the leader of his gang the Lost Boys, interacting with mermaids, Indians, fairies and pirates, and from time to time meeting ordinary children from the world outside.

Living in the 19th century and facing the impact of Darwin's theory of evolution, H.G. Wells wrote this haunting masterpiece, an evolutionary fantasy. The story's title character, Dr. Moreau, is a shipwrecked naturalist who becomes involved in an experiment to "humanize" animals by surgery. Dr. Moreau has been expelled from his homeland for performing cruel vivisection experiments. On the isolated island, he finds the freedom to continue torturous transplantations and create hideous creatures with manlike intelligence.

Hopalong Cassidy is an iconic western cowboy hero conceived by Clarence Mulford, but immortalized in a series of films starring William Boyd from 1935-1948. A tough-talking and violent character in the print novels, Cassidy was remade into a clean-cut hero who traveled the West with his sidekicks fighting villains who took advantage of the weak.

Clarence E. Mulford takes you back to the beginning by relating the stories (as told to him by Red and the boys of the BAR-20) of how Buck Peters started the BAR-20 ranch.

Il vento tra i salici (The Wind in the Willows) è un classico della letteratura per l’infanzia pubblicato nel 1908. I protagonisti sono Rospo, Tasso, Talpa, che rappresentano la società rurale inglese dell'epoca. L'autore, Kenneth Grahame (1859-1932) lo scrisse per il figlio che soffriva di gravi problemi di salute e che morì poi suicida a venti anni. Nel 1909 Grahame si licenziò poi dalla carica di segretario della Banca d'Ighilterra.

Il testo integrale del romanzo reso celeberrimo dall’adattamento a cartoni animati avvenuto nel 1974 ll romanzo fu in realtà pubblicato nel 1880 ed è ambientato fra la Svizzera e la Germania intorno alla fine dell'Ottocento. La storia racconta di come Heidi, una bambina di cinque anni, orfana e priva di qualsiasi istruzione, venga allevata sulle montagne svizzere, e sia poi costretta a confrontarsi con una realtà cittadina, che, pur nella sofferenza, le darà il dono di apprendere la lettura e di credere in Dio.
