Former pop star Heather Wells has settled into her new life as an assistant dorm director. On a dark winter’s night in January 1898, the head cowman at the Express Dairy Company’s College Farm was shot dead. The picturesque dairy farm located on Regent’s Park Road in Finchley provided the unlikely crime scene. The victim, Thomas Webb, had no known enemies but eerily had predicted the shocking event.

It’s 1805, and as a result of two tragic incidents, the legend of the ghost of Bowdoin College is born. Over a century and a half later, Bowdoin graduate Vincent Mark, a young lawyer who works for The Sterling Works in New York City, is reeling from a series of suspicious deaths of the senior officers at Sterling.

On a cold night in January 2001, the idyllic community of Dartmouth College was shattered by the discovery that two of its most beloved professors had been hacked to death in their own home. Investigators searched helplessly for clues linking the victims to their murderer or murderers. A few weeks later, across the river, in the town of Chelsea, Vermont, police cars were spotted in front of the house of a high school senior. Soon, the town discovered the incomprehensible reality that two of Chelsea's brightest and most popular sons, were now fugitives, wanted for the murders.
