But when a phony beekeeper shows up and sprays toxic smoke at the guests, the party erupts in chaos. Worse yet, a shot rings out and Osgood Claxton III, candidate for state legislature, falls to the ground—dead.

But just when everything seems to be going right, the local troublemaker ends up dead on her rural road.

Summer is in full bloom, and so is Sammy’s baking with her new experiment of hummingbird cakes. But the quiet town of Sunny Cove is thrown into chaos once again when the clerk at the Gas ‘n’ Guzzle is found dead behind the building. The first step is finding a place to have the shelter, and she thinks she’s found it in the form of a run-down Victorian. Unfortunately, everyone in town seems to believe the house is haunted. Sammy believes in God, not ghosts, but she has to admit that activity at the house just keeps getting weirder and weirder. Sammy’s got to get to the bottom of this if she’s ever going to make this shelter a reality.
