Detective Camp

As the Baby Boom generation ages, growing numbers of people are impacted by dementia caused by Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related disorders. By the year 2020, 53 million people in the US are expected to be over the age of 65. Accompanying the rise in the older population, the number of people in the US diagnosed with AD is expected to exceed 15 million by 2050, out of a total of 80 million worldwide. Writing with wit and compassion, Dr. Camp aims to help his audience better understand how the disease affects memory, and how memory loss may affect behavior.

Free Camp, which somehow became known as FreeK Camp, is for special kids. But just how special most people will never know. Two vans are on their way to the camp in rural Maine, the teen passengers just starting to get acquainted. One van makes it. The other mysteriously disappears. Now each group of kids must bond together to discover and use their paranormal and psychic powers. The lives of one group literally depend on it.

Better than birthdays. Better than Thanksgiving. Better even than Christmas! For the Double Cousins, the high point of the year is summer camp! Seeing camp friends. Choosing one activity for the day's free time, and there are too many to do them all in one week: the climbing wall, the hike, the zip line, and for a quieter break, crafts or fishing. And then, there's Water Day! So many ways to get wet!

Cara is on the cusp of adventure. Unlike her best friends, she doesn’t want to go to college, she wants different kinds of challenges. And anyway, home just doesn’t fit anymore. She is growing distant from her friends and hasn’t spoken to her father in eons. To make matters worse, her ex-boyfriend and fellow climber, Nat, has popped back into town after breaking up with her over text. So it’s the perfect time to leave, and she has big plans for a gap year to rock-climb in Patagonia. But when Cara hears that her father is actually missing, things change.
