Tracey had been told this so often as a child. Yet, two months after the horse-riding accident, Tracey was still not able to fulfil it. In fact, at that stage, she couldn’t do anything for herself. You’d think that after nearly losing her life and her abilities to live life as it was before because of the riding accident, that she’d be nervous about getting back on a horse. But her love for horses and riding was so deeply ingrained within her that she couldn’t imagine a life without it. Getting back on a horse...she was determined that she would.

When I was six years old, I started wearing glasses. My view of my low vision quickly changed when I was twenty years old and found out that my brother had suddenly gone blind. He was told that he was suffering from Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), a disorder that slowly destroys the pigment cells in the eyes. So far, there are no known cures. At the tender age of twenty-one, I was also diagnosed with RP. Since then, I have been slowly going blind, not knowing when my world would finally fade away forever. Battling against such a crippling disease led me through a labyrinth of challenges.

My Four Seasons is a testimony of life. A personal diary transformed into a profound but also fun lecture about how to face an illness with a positive mind; describing how the family and the friends play the most important role in recovery.

At age 16, James Tate Hill was diagnosed with Leber’s hereditary optic neuropathy, a condition that left him legally blind. My audiobook is about Aden and his journey and his constant battle in life, from childhood to his adult life. The story of how he struggled for years unaware of his dyslexia or his Scotopic Sensitivity \ syndrome until he was fully assessed at the age of 40. This audiobook seeks to inspire others to understand dyslexia and to help them face criticism and discrimination. Over the years, Aden had to overcome insurmountable obstacles in life. His determination to succeed came from these very rejections and insults.

One September day in 1955, Rita’s life changed forever when polio struck her family. She was five years old. Rita became totally paralyzed; her brother was partially affected, and she lost her mother to the virus. The hospital became her home, and the ward sister her mother. Hospital life was harsh in the 1950s: Crying was a punishable offence and meant solitary confinement. Rita struggled to walk again using leg callipers and a spinal brace, and later became mobile with the use of a wheelchair.

I will state that though listed as a memoir, this is for the most part a fiction book subject (epilepsy Zen). They say that Yin Zen questioning is talking to your higher consciousness; epilepsy Zen meditation is contemplating your navel or lower than your tanzen - doorway to the hara and hearing the giant ocean roar from within a fragile seashell and learning the Yang illuminating answer.
