Christmas has come early to the town of Paterson, New Jersey, in the form of a snowstorm that dumps two feet of snow on the ground. Lawyer Andy Carpenter likes snow – white Christmas and all that – but it can cause problems for the walks he takes his dogs on every day. When Jack and Sarge move to the town of Doggeroo, Jack soon notices that things are going missing. He doesn't mind when an old boot from the yard disappears, but when his squeaker bone, dinner, dinner bowl and blanket vanish, Jack knows that something sinister is afoot. Jack Russell is a dog-detective with a nose for whodunit and, though he is often hampered by the well-meaning but bumbling "Red", he always manages to sniff out his quarry in the end.

Hank gets bumped out of the back of the Cammo-Stealth army truck. Mary D. Cat is the only one around to help keep Rip and Snort at bay. Will Slim realize Hank is missing in action? Is Mary D. From rags to riches...When Pete the Barncat offers to trade good, juicy steak scraps for a couple of old corncobs, Hank the Cowdog smells a rat. Why would Pete want to trade - unless the cobs are worth a fortune? So, armed with his Incredible PricelessCorncobs, Hank sets out to plan his Early Retirement.
