In 1998 Mark died of AIDS, cared for in the end by his lover John and their friend (and nurse) Marcia. Twenty years later, John and Marcia reflect on what they survived that Mark didn't. In December, 2018 Gay City: Seattle's LGBTQ Center invited a variety of artists who had been present during the AIDS crisis to contribute to a show.

Each of the personality types includes a short, humorous account of a disastrous date. These stories are based on real experiences and are not without purpose. They illustrate what is expected of the other person in a relationship - things that people who are seeking lasting relationships seem to have forgotten. It could be considered a how-to book, in a humorous way.

In this short story from Nathan Englander's collection For the Relief of Unbearable Urges, an Orthodox Jewish wife is abandoned and made miserable because her husband will not consent to a religious divorce.

The year is 1870. The elderly Colonel Jouve has suffered a medical collapse and is confined to his bed. It is uncertain whether or not he will pull through. His granddaughter takes over his care. Then one day, news reaches Paris of military successes in the war against Prussia. Colonel Jouve senses the optimism in the air and his health begins to improve. Almost immediately further news reaches Paris. The previous news was wrong - in fact the French are being beaten back.

The story is about a gossipy woman finding out that being a "good Christian" is indeed a 24 hour job.

When the Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan arrive in 1980s London, they find the current hot ticket is 'The King of the Dead', an interactive theatre experience they've inadvertently become part of. The Doctor settles into his usual role - trying to save the day after discovering an alien presence - but it's Nyssa who finds herself dealing with someone who is working from a different script entirely....
