He is asked to tell of his philosophy of life before he goes, to speak his truth to the crowds gathered. What he has to say forms the basis of the book.

Twenty Poems of Love and a Song of Despair is a collection of romantic poems by 1971 Noble laureate of literature, Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, first published in 1924 by Editorial Nascimiento.
