"The Forty-Five Guardsmen" is a historical novel by Alexandre Dumas, a part of his Valois romances series. Set in 16th-century France, during the tumultuous era of the Wars of Religion, the novel follows the aftermath of the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre.
