The Baltimore Clipper ship Frolic was bound from Canton, China, to San Francisco with household goods for gold miners. The shipwreck of the Frolic lead to the founding of the town of Mendocino, California, and the discovery of redwood trees. We speak with archeologists who are studying this important early California event. The Frolic Shipwreck is now a California Underwater State Park.

In London England, an exact replica of the 17th century William Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre opened in 1995.
