He advanced a Pan-African philosophy which inspired a global movement, known as Garveyism. To live in a body both fat and Black is to exist at the margins of a society that creates the conditions for anti-fatness as anti-Blackness. Not only did 150 Sioux die at the hands of the US Cavalry, the sense was, but Native civilization did as well.
