Halloween Short

For the month of October 2017, J. Ellington Ashton Press, on their Wicked Little Things blog-talk radio, broadcasted a series of Halloween stories. These “Fireside Stories” (as they were called) were a big hit with the listeners, and the decision was quickly made to publish these tales of terror in an anthology.

Today is Halloween, Max’s favorite day of the year. That’s because of trick-or-treating, the neighborhood haunted house, and he gets to dress up as his favorite superhero, Mr. Amazing. But the day doesn’t start off as Max had hoped. First, his best friend, Sam, also dresses up Mr. Amazing. That’s super embarrassing. Then he has to deal with the big kids at Filmore Middle School who keep tugging on his cape and snapping his mask. That is super annoying.
