Set against the backdrop of the both optimistic and violent 1950s and 1960s, Affections traces the Ertls's slow and inevitable breakdown through the various erratic trajectories of each family member: Hans's undertakings of colossal, foolhardy projects and his subsequent spectacular failures; his daughter Monika, heir to his adventurous spirit, who joins the Bolivian Marxist guerrillas and becomes known as "Che Guevara's avenger"; and his wife and two younger sisters left to pick up the pieces in their wake.

Gilbert Connatt, former film star, now dead broke, would give his life for a good role. And that may be just what he has done when he signs to be the lead in a newly discovered play by George Gordon, Lord Byron. As an added inducement, Gilbert finds he will be playing opposite his former flame, Sigrid Holgar, who has become a megastar since they broke off their headline-making Hollywood romance.

In Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark has recently lost his father, but his mother is in a hurry to marry her late husband's brother. Hamlet is overwhelmed with grief for his father's death but also outraged because of the hurried marriage. Most people don't realize that there are three versions of Hamlet, printed at different times. There is a considerable difference between the texts of these versions, so to have a "complete" version of this play, editors had to make some adjustments. The three texts are simply different versions of the play.

Jay Gould sought to yoke a corner on the gold market in August and September, 1869. His endeavor came to a head on September 24, a day known as the Gold Panic, or Black Friday. Many merchant houses, banks, and brokerages thereafter failed because of the flagrant volatility in prices. This drama presents the acts and thoughts of Gould, his partner, Jim Fisk, and their brokers during the panic.

Venus and Adonis is a rich and rewarding work. This version includes substantial in introductory and concluding commentary from Shakespeare expert Charlie Creed, in addition to the full poem. Written in glorious language, the story balances comic invention with a tragic and moving love story. Appearing in quarto form in 1593, Venus and Adonis was Shakespeare’s first published work - for though several of the author’s plays had been performed by this date, none had been printed.

The lawmakers and Drew then shorted Harlem stock. This play of counteraction portrays the most competitive businessman of the nineteenth century.

Though a comedy, the play focuses on the themes of love and friendship and the conflict between them.
