एकदा असाच बसलो असताना, माझी सावली माझ्यासमोरच हसत उभी! आधी माझाही तुमच्यासारखाच विश्वास बसला नसता. पण सावलीनं समजावून सांगितलं ना! म्हणाली. घन: श्याम, मी तुझी सावली आहे. तू माझं शरीर आहेस. म्हणजे, माझ्या मनात जे येतं, ते मी तुझ्या शरीराकडून करवून घेते! असं कसं? मी विचारलं. पण एक गमतीदार योगायोग म्हणजे, सावली जश्शी उभी होती ना, तस्सा मी उभा होतो! ती माझी कीव करीत म्हणाली, तुला काय वाटतं, तू डॉक्टरांच्या औषधांनी त्या मालिशवाल्याच्या पाय चोळण्यांनी किंवा आईच्या परिश्रमांनी बरा झालास? नाही? 'तू माझ्या मुळे बरा झालास... मी नसते तर तू देखील नसतास. माणसानं फक्त स्वत: च्या सावलीला घाबरावं. सावलीच!

'संदेह'.
