Berlin, 1961. Rudi Möser-Fleischmann is an aspiring photographer with dreams of greatness, but he can't hold a candle to his talented, charismatic twin brother Peter, an ambitious actor. On October 29, 1929, life in the United States took a turn for the worst. The stock market – the system that controls money in America – plunged to a record low.
