Steven Bates lives a busy life working with non-profits for suicide prevention, helping others with PTSD to obtain service dogs, and running his own non-profit to comfort those who suffer from mental illness. Those experiences have inspired his poetry. He wrote it with the sincere hope to honor those who sacrificed for their country and to remind those who struggle of how they can thrive in the face of adversity.

This book is a collaboration of poetry and thoughts composed by both authors. That which is within deals with the many aspects of everyday life such as family and friends, the battles we face daily, and the fondness we hold for those we love and cherish. Briefly, this second volume is a mixture of poems and observations. Most of the poems come from a distant past whereas my observations sprang up two years ago.

My second audiobook of poetry focuses on three aspects of my life. This audiobook is more in depth with my feelings, emotions, and struggles. Most of the poems were written between 2008 and 2010. I went through a crush, a miscarriage, AND graduation from school. I went through a lot mentally. Love. Lust. Life. was originally the first audiobook and Chocolate Kisses was a part of LLL. I decided to break the two apart to separate two aspects of my life. Love focuses on being in love, unrequited love, the fantasy of being in love. Lust focuses on my sexuality. Life focuses on some of the things I went through.

This author bears the unusual distinction of having Mark Twain as a friend when she was a young girl. Twain encouraged Dorothy to write. This memorable short poem is the result of Twain's encouragement.

From these poems, my only hope is that people take a better understanding of how others should be treated.
