Life Poetry

The title of my book is one of the poems entitled Life Is Too Short. I added "to Waste" to give the title a more significant meaning. People are getting killed every day at a very young age and a fair number of people were dying of natural causes, and I am sure they have not accomplished their goals when they were killed. I have many pieces in this book, and I hope each and every piece will be comfort and enjoyment to my listeners. This is my second poetry book.

Other than a few poems in reference to veterans, the topics are basically my experiences in dealing with life as a double amputee. It is meant to inspire, motivate, and be inspirational! Barach HaShem, Hebrew, meaning “Praise His Name”.

This book consists of poems that signify the events of life. No matter what life brings for us to experience on our own - dark or bright, high or low, joy or sorrow - it all enriches us with great lessons. Life is our master indeed. Life, You Are the Master! contains select thought-provoking, original poems written over the period of 2007-2015, in different countries such as England, Germany, Poland, and Bangladesh. It also includes 10 beautiful haikus.

When Louis Pasteur discovered the process of fermentation in the 1870s, he noted that, while most organisms perished from lack of oxygen, some were able to adapt and even thrive as 'life without air'. In this capricious, dreamlike collection, characters and scenes traverse states of airlessness, from suffocating relationships, religions and institutions to toxic environments and ecstatic asphyxiations. Both compassionate and ecologically nuanced, this innovative collection bridges poetry and prose to interrogate the conditions necessary for survival.

"He aquí a la Mistral comadre y recadera, mujer vieja y criolla, juguetona: ese es su mal y su bien". Así mismísimo se define muy impersonal pero personalmente la propia Gabriela Mistral, revelando en recreadora frase epistolar ese "ser yo" sin miramiento alguno, a no ser su siempre ver, sentir y pensar libertariamente el mundo. Life Is a Drama is a Pandora's Box. Tom observes the pain of the world and yet he optimistically insists that we can turn things around through respect, kindness, resilience, and hope.

My poetry is at times raw, sensuous, and evocative, and guarantees a stirring of all senses. Some poems will melt your heart or arouse you; others will leave you with a myriad of acute emotions. Others will make you smile, even bring tears to your eyes. Some, I hope, will provide comfort in knowing you are not alone, even when life is not always kind. I see us all as clay on a potter's wheel. Life’s trials represent the reshaping of who we are, and that reshaping is never ending. My poetry reflects that truth as an expression of my experiences.
