Merely gaining levels and having a higher cultivation isn’t enough to pass the eighth realm’s test into the ninth realm. Find your truth, understand your reason; only then can you pass the eighth realm. It might be Erik and Rugrat’s hardest challenge yet.

An old military veteran wanted to add a little color to his lonely existence. So, he entered Alpha Rome. This virtual world has given him the chance to feel young again and have one last taste of the spice of life. The prospect of death is no longer daunting, as anyone who dies is reborn by replicating in a purpose-built capsule. Volper’s military experience, keen eye and sharp negotiating skills have helped him get off to a successful start, but his view of the project has taken a sharp turn. More and more questions are popping up and there are no answers in sight.

Though the Abyss beckons to Hal, an old foe resurfaces. Poisoning his home, the Shadesblight cannot be ignored. The Tower of Blight will corrupt the entirety of the Shiverglades if Hal does not stop it. With bitter winter setting in, Hal will have to battle not only the corruption on his doorstep but the very elements themselves. As the armies of the Twelve Tribes march on Brightsong, Hal and his allies don't have the luxury of time to deal with the Tower.
