New Volunteers

In 1945 when the atomic bombs were dropped in WWII, our “protectors” and “watchers” in outer space saw that Earth was on a collision course with disaster. The prime directive of non-interference prevented them from taking any action, but then they came up with a brilliant plan to save Earth and assist her in her ascension. They couldn’t interfere from the “outside”, but maybe they could influence from the “inside”. So the call went out for volunteers to come and help. “Earth is in trouble - who wants to volunteer?”

Angels in the Sky is the gripping story of how an all-volunteer air force helped defeat five Arab nations and protect the fledgling Jewish state. It is the exhilarating account of a ragtag band of volunteer airmen from around the world who fought for Israel during the war of independence. They arrived from America, Canada, Britain, France, and South Africa. Almost all were World War II combat veterans. Many, but not all, were Jewish, and many knowingly violated their nations' embargoes on the shipment of arms and aircraft to Israel.

For many nonprofit organizations, volunteers have served a vital purpose in roles ranging from administrative to facility management. With an aging population and the reality of baby boomers entering the next phase of their lives, new ways of recruiting these mature, skilled individuals as volunteers are emerging. Through his research, Dr. Jesse Bolinger presents a compelling case for how their past work experience, educational background, and mental health can play a significant role and be a tool for retaining them in areas that best suit these three basic elements.

Meet Jules and Josh, the new twins in town! While Josh adapts quickly to Ambler, Jules accidentally makes an enemy of Maggie. Hoping a pet will help her feel better, Jules adopts the class rabbit, Chewie, but things go downhill when there are complications with Chewie's spay surgery.
